We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales & Project Estimator to join our growing Civil Waterworks team in Kamloops. This role is ideal for an individual with experience in civil construction, underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, or waterworks distribution who enjoys working with customers, solving technical challenges, and supporting projects from tender through completion.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, performing material takeoffs, preparing customer quotations, coordinating project logistics, and providing technical support to contractors, municipalities, consulting engineers, and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
This position offers an opportunity to work on a wide variety of municipal, commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects across British Columbia while building long-term relationships with customers and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Project Quotations
- Review civil engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related underground infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed project quotations and estimates in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
- Source pricing and availability from key vendors and manufacturers.
- Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternate solutions when appropriate.
- Ensure quotations are accurate, competitive, and submitted within required timelines.
- Track and maintain quotation records, project opportunities, and bid results.
Inside Sales & Customer Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, consulting engineers, and developers.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and technical applications.
- Provide product recommendations and technical support related to civil waterworks products and systems.
- Follow up on quotations and project opportunities to secure orders and strengthen customer relationships.
- Process customer orders and ensure accuracy from order entry through fulfillment.
Project Coordination & Logistics
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules to meet project timelines.
- Arrange transportation and logistics between manufacturers, suppliers, warehouses, and our customer job sites.
- Monitor project orders and communicate delivery updates proactively.
- Work closely with suppliers, freight providers, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resolve delivery, inventory, and supply chain issues in a timely manner.
Technical & Field Support
- Assist civil customers with product-related issues encountered in the field.
- Interpret project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and technical representatives to resolve field issues and product concerns.
- Support warranty claims, product troubleshooting, and deficiency resolution.
- Provide accurate technical documentation and product information as required.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with branch operations, purchasing, warehouse personnel, and sales teams.
- Maintain accurate project, customer, and quotation information within company systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Required
- 3+ years of experience in civil construction, underground utilities, waterworks distribution, estimating, project coordination, or a related industry.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing estimates and quotations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience in municipal waterworks, sanitary sewer, stormwater, or underground infrastructure products.
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and industry standards, including AWWA, CSA, and ASTM specifications.
- Experience using an ERP, CRM, estimating, or construction management software.
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma, Construction Management education, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience working directly with contractors, consulting engineers, and developers.
